Lab Orders

If you are completing labs at Quest Diagnostics

In most scenarios, if you are completing your labs at Quest, you do not need to print your lab orders. Quest can locate your lab orders in their system when you show your ID.

If one of the below scenarios applies to you, you will need to bring a copy of your lab order. Please send us a message 3 business days before your lab appointment.

  • If you are in Oklahoma
  • If you are utilizing a lab across state lines
    • Note: If you're a resident of NY, NJ, or RI, your labs need to be done in your state, and cannot be done in another state. All others may cross state lines.

If you are completing labs at another third party lab

If you're completing labs at a lab other than Quest, we recommend bringing a copy of your lab orders with you. The lab should have these already but having a copy with you will simplify the process and prevent any potential confusion. In order to access your lab orders, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log into the Athena patient portal
  2. On the left side menu, click "My Health"
  3. At the top, click "Health Reminders" to view all pending lab orders
  4. Follow the below steps for each lab.* DO NOT click the Print All button at the top of the page.
    1. Click on the lab name to view the details
    2. Click the "print" button under the lab location contact details
    3. A pop-up will appear with your lab order, including a barcode that the lab can scan. Click "Print".

*It is very important that you bring a copy of each lab order that is pending in the portal. If you don’t bring all of them, this may lead to receiving an incomplete set of results and a possible repeat trip to the lab to complete the outstanding test(s).
