Does FOLX prescribe for ADHD?

  • Updated

FOLX can manage your ADHD treatment, if you have a prior diagnosis, and have received a prescription within the last 6 months.

To book an appointment for ADHD treatment, select ADHD on the Book a Visit page in your member account. ADHD is only available in the following states: AZ, CO, CT, DE, DC, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MS, MT, NM, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, UT, VT, VA, WA.

After booking an appointment for ADHD care, you need to upload documentation of your evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment plan at least 3 business days before your appointment so the clinical team can review your documentation and make sure it is sufficient. We pride ourselves on providing expert clinical care to the LGBTQIA+ community that meets the highest standards in terms of clinical safety and evidence based medicine. Our review of the documentation you provide regarding your previous diagnosis and treatment of ADHD is to make sure it meets these clinical safety and evidence based standards.

Documentation must include:

  • Evaluation of ADHD diagnosis, ICD-10 dx of ADHD (F90.X), by any qualified medical professional (PCP, PMHNP or psychiatrist).
  • Current prescription and treatment plan (including medication name, strength, dosage, instructions), and history of ADHD prescriptions. You must have been prescribed, and taken, at least 1 prescription in the last 6 months.

If you do not send sufficient documentation at least 3 business days before your appointment, your clinician may not be able to prescribe medication during your visit. In that case, you can still meet with your clinician but will need a second appointment to receive a prescription after required documentation has been provided. This second visit will either be a 30 or 15 minute visit – length determined by your clinician – that you will be responsible for paying for. Please note that appointments are nonrefundable based on prescription outcome and our cancellation policy will apply.

How to send documentation before your appointment

We cannot currently provide an initial diagnosis for ADHD, but hope to be able to in the future. If you need a diagnosis, contact our Member Navigators in Help Center for a referral to an affirming provider who can evaluate, diagnose, and come up with an initial treatment plan for your ADHD.
