What if I have an emergency?

  • Updated

FOLX Health is not an emergency medical service or mental health crisis service and therefore cannot appropriately provide emergency response services.

In the event of a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.

You may also be able to find mental health crisis response teams in your area by searching online using your zip code or town/city name, and adding the words “mental health crisis help” We cannot promise that all areas will have these teams, but they can be helpful and may also not involve law enforcement response.

If you are experiencing a non-medical crisis, we encourage you to reach out to one of the following resources:

  • Crisis Text Line: Thanks to our partnership with Crisis Text Line, FOLX members can text 'FOLX' to 741741 to reach a live volunteer crisis counselor, 24/7. Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, confidential text-based mental health support in both English and Spanish and is also available via WhatsApp or web browser.
  • Trans LifelineTrans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans and questioning peers. Call the hotline at (877) 565-8860 to talk. Visit https://translifeline.org/hotline/ for details and availability.
  • The Trevor Project: Call, text, or web chat to connect anonymously with a Trevor counselor. Visit https://www.thetrevorproject.org/get-help/ for contact information.

For FOLX members with non-emergency concerns you would like to discuss with your clinician, you can reach out to them through the Message Center.
